    Dear loved ones,
I woke up this morning and walked into the sunny backyard garden my mother nurtured for 40 years. The sweetness of roses filled the air and the ripe service berry tree offered the birds a buffet of delights. Judith’s hands and soul where all around me.
Yesterday Judith was full of life reading letters from friends, getting on her feet again, and talking with family.  The burst of personality and clarity cut through the haze of sickness. Yet, the night has a way of transforming us.

With a sad heart and yet a peaceful soul, I want to share that late last night at 1:30am Judith passed from this lush summer moment into her next spiritual journey. She was in complete peace and meditation as her breathing slowed and eventually left her. No drugs, no pain, just love and reunion.
We held her hands and bathed her in prayers as she rested. She chose the deepest part of night and allowed us to walk right up to the veil with her. The crazy world around us became silent and time slowed down. Her breaths grew further apart and then wooosh. As her body cooled, her spirit surrounded us in warmth. I was honored to be present for such grace.
There are so many to thank for aiding her in this transition. We all played a different role in her life and passing, but each role had meaning and purpose. I am humbled by the loving and wise support that materialized over the last year. Our family was enriched and enlarged, new friends emerged and old friends remained engaged. Our whole family is deeply grateful.
  • Here is her full obituary and her memorial service is this Sunday October 1 at 3pm at Kripalu.
